Mijn Automatics en eindeloze horloge browsing

Mijn 3 automatische horloges zijn zeer goed werkt.
Mijn groene leger is het houden van geweldige tijd. Het lijkt alsof het wordt steeds minder dan 5 seconden per dag nu, nadat het ongeveer 2 maanden.
Oranje Bullet loopt nog een beetje snel, ongeveer 15 tot 20 seconden per dag. Ik heb echter alleen maar had minder dan een maand, dus ik zal zien hoe het werkt in de komende 30 dagen.
De blauwe 5 is me echt schokkend. Het is bijna dood aan de rechterkant uit de doos, minder dan 5 seconden per dag als goed. Ik hoop dat het houdt de uitstekende tijd te houden.
Sprekend over uitstekende tijd te houden, wordt mijn Kinetic nog steeds het houden van ongelooflijke tijd. Minder dan 0,5 seconden verloren in 6 maanden! Zelfs voor een kwarts, dit is vrij opmerkelijk. Ik vraag me af wat nauwkeurigheden andere mensen hebben gezien met hun Seiko quartz horloges?
De Timex houdt nog steeds uitstekende tijd ook, krijgt ongeveer 3 seconden per maand.
Maakte nog een reis naar TJ. Zag een mooie Seiko 5 sports, oranje geconfronteerd horloge. Echt scherp het kijken. Zelfs op de 'low end' Seikos, de draaibare ring voelt veel beter dan horloges 20 keer duurder. zag ook een paar leuke chronografen. Kijk Review: Seiko SNZH40 Rose Gold Automatische

Eindelijk, hier is mijn recensie van mijn Seiko SNZH40 Rose Gold jurk horloge. Ik ontving dit horloge als een verjaardagscadeau (6 maanden geleden!), Maar met gezondheidsproblemen, ik heb gewoon niet de tijd gevonden om te doen een goede beoordeling van dit prachtige horloge.

Zoals u kunt zien, het is een gedurfde, moderne jurk horloge. De zaak is rose vergulde roestvrij staal, 39mm breed. De beplating is top en al het goud op het horloge wedstrijden. De wijzerplaat is een radiale zonnestraal zwart. Het is een echt zwart, niet houtskool of iets dergelijks. Het heeft Romeinse cijfers markers bij 12, 6 en 9. De overige markers zijn driehoekig. Het horloge heeft ook een hoofdstuk ring minutenlang, in het wit, vijf minuten. De handen zijn Dauphine stijl en zijn verguld. Op het moment dat de hand is volledige lengte, en de hele weg naar het hoofdstuk ring, dat is een mooi gebaar bereikt. Het horloge heeft een dag en datum en minimale schriftelijk op de wijzerplaat; net Seiko en Automatisch. Het kristal is plat saffier, mijn tweede horloge met dit materiaal. Ik wou dat ze zetten sommige anti-reflecterende coating op daar, maar ik heb tenminste nooit meer zorgen te maken over krassen. Het is een leuke functie op de prijs en een grote stap omhoog van mineraal glas. De kroon is gegroefde en makkelijk te gebruiken bij het instellen van het horloge.

Aanzetten van het horloge is aa betrouwbaar 7S36B, 23 juweel automatisch. Het is duidelijk af, maar is door het doorzichtige achterdeksel. De achterkant van de behuizing is mineraalglas, dat is prima. Geen gebruik maken van deze saffier waar het niet kan krassen. De beweging is een pure automatisch, zonder de hand wind of hacking. Het horloge, interessant, is waterdicht tot 100 meter. Ik had niet verwacht dat niveau van waterbestendigheid voor een jurk horloge.

Tot slot hebben we de band en gesp. Het leer is Seiko echt kalf en zeer buigzaam. Het heeft een krokodil patroon in reliëf en is gelooid een lakleren glans. Het eindigt in een gemakkelijk te vervangen 20mm. De buckle is in reliëf met Seiko en vergulde over roestvrij.
Ik geniet echt van dit horloge, het is modern, met een diameter van 39mm, maar onmiskenbaar een jurk horloge. Het heeft geen lichtgevende markering afbreuk zou doen aan wat verondersteld te zijn. Het heeft de uitstraling en de meeste van de kenmerken van een horloge dat 20X meer kost. De saffier kristal is een echte bonus en zet dit horloge in de 'SEIKO Superior' lijn, in plaats van een 5. De indrukwekkende waterbestendigheid voegt het vertrouwen in het dagelijks dragen van dit horloge, omdat de regen niet de moeite het. Ik heb dit horloge gedragen nogal een beetje over de afgelopen zes maanden, en het ziet er nog steeds gloednieuw.

And I've found the Casio AE1200WH-1AV to be such a model and one that in no way could ever be considered basic.

As far as functions are concerned and despite it's amazing price tag (£17) this is one serious watch. And it's many features and functions are both practical and useful.
It has large easy to read main time digits with the Day, Date, Month, Hour, minute and seconds on a high contrast display. It's a chronograph too with a Stop watch (1/100sec) and Countdown Timer.
Unusually and usefully it also has an Analogue clock (with digital H,M and secs hands) giving your local time as a permanent view whatever mode you are in.
And this model incorporates a pretty comprehensive World Time feature, with an “at a glance” World Time zone map, 31 time zones and 48 cities, UTC and Daylight Savings settings. But in addition it also has a quick jump feature to show 4 other time zones in rotation and a selectable auto scan feature too. Another useful trick is the quick swap feature from Home time to any World Time you have selected, usually the preserve of some serious upmarket models.
If you need an alarm then your well catered for here with 5 preset and repeatable Daily Alarms and a One-Time Alarm. There is also an hourly signal which beeps twice on the hour if you so select.
A selectable duration LED light with afterglow of either 1.5 seconds or 3 seconds for easy viewing at night.

You also don't need to bother with the annoying task of correcting the days at the end of those silly months that don't have 31 days – the Auto Calendar takes care of all that, right up to the year 2099.
And who needs Solar, Eco-Drive, Automatic or Kinetic with it's outstanding 10 year battery life with it's CR2025 battery.
The light resin case and steel back plate with internal seal ensures a 100m Water Resistance, which is just great for that holiday swimming. It comes with a really quite good and unobtrusive synthetic resin flexible strap and black coated buckle. I've found the strap to be quite comfortable, the divers “waves” shape not really large enough to cause me discomfort. The strap is also set to 18mm spring lug bars, so an alternative strap could be used if preferred, BUT note there is little room allowed between bar and case and a NATO strap may be difficult if not impossible to fit, though a standard fitting silicon deployment style might. (I'll update on the silicon strap at a future date).
The “glass/crystal” is a very clear resin and the dial contrast is exceptional, so this is a very easy watch to read, which is a big plus point in my opinion.

On the wrist – pretty good even on my small wrist 170mm.

For night use it has a two setting back light which is one of the best I've used yet, at either 1.5 secs or 3 secs when pressing the top right pusher. The bottom right pusher selects 4 quick view World Times in rotation, which is handy as one of them is Paris, so for us Europeans from UK very useful. The day and date display window gives the City, the month then the date (not the right order for us in UK, but I'm OK with it).
Size wise it's neat at just 39.5mm (42mm with buttons) x 13mm Squarish case profile and a clear surprisingly tough resin crystal/glass. The lug to lug is 45mm which is neater than most and it fits my 170mm wrist just fine.

This is a serious piece of kit – and I kid you not. What you get for your money is incredible value and as a “Holiday” watch, I could not have found anything better – anywhere?
Wherever you are in the world, just set the zone – Swimming or Snorkeling? – no problem. Need an alarm to catch that flight? – easy, you have a choice of 5!
Just a word on the highly commendable 100m WR on this model. I mean that's really quite good, not true Diver quality rated of course, but seriously good considering a simple square steel back with 4 corner screws and internal seal – it all seems so easy. (how many watches do you meet with a paltry 5bar as their best effort?). It simply confirms my opinion that there is really no excuse for poor Water Resistance in ANY watch today.
So what are the downsides?
I have heard it said the buttons are too easy to use and inadvertent operation is possible and annoying. Well I can honestly say on this model to date, this has NOT happened to me yet! and the pushers “push” with a reasonably firm consistency. That said, I don't wear watches at the very, very end of my wrist beyond the wrist bone, like some folks, so my hand even stretched back, simply can't operate the buttons.
I'm tempted to describe this watch as the “ultimate”, though that might be too much praise, but frankly and from a Practical and Price viewpoint, and let's face it what else do we need, it really doesn't get much better!
And here's an interesting thought. Perhaps you're unlucky enough on holiday to have your watch stolen?
As one of my friends tells me – “Not a problem, I always take 2 of these little blighters with me”. And believe it or not he has another 3 at home, which I said at the time was a bit silly! However sometimes things said come back to haunt you, as after I got one for myself, thinking of my friend and liking the watch so much, I ended up buying another one for my wife!
So for me there are no downsides at all with this Casio World Timer model. It does everything its supposed to do, clear to read day or night and manages each function very well and at an absolutely rock bottom price.
Now whilst I may very well use this model for holidays, for which it is ideal of course – the question is – is this just a holiday watch?
The answer is absolutely NOT! – not by a long chalk!

Don't Forget Your Local Watchmaker

Fixing your luxury watch might be easier than you think.

It has become clear that watch manufacturers have a firm grip on the market for timepiece repairs . This is strange to those of us who have walked down 47th Street in New York City, passing by the shop windows of the truly gifted watchmakers that reside there.

The issue is, while the big companies often give independent dealers and service centers significant discounts on whole timepieces, they do not typically offer such deals on spare parts. Plus, if you do service a watch at a standalone shop, and later bring that watch to an authorized dealer or producer directly, they might deem the piece “tampered with,” charge exorbitant amounts of money to service it, or refuse to work with it altogether.

Sometimes, manufacturers will tell their customers that, if they get a timepiece fixed somewhere else, they risk damaging it, and could end up having to pay double to get the job done right afterwards.

This is not entirely true. We know several local watchmakers who have worked in repairs for ages, having restored Jaeger-LeCoultres, Patek Philippes, Rolexes, and all the rest.

So what sets these independent watchmakers apart from the authorized dealers? They simply like running their own businesses. Yet they struggle every day to get their hands on authentic spare parts — sometimes harvesting the necessary components from other, used timepieces, or even making their own.

The truth is, some of these watchmakers are even more skilled than those working for the companies themselves, and they will get the job done for about one-third of the price.

Like Mercedes and BMW in the automobile industry, companies like Cartier and Chopard have reputations for bringing a certain level of style and quality. There is no denying that. But just as you might employ a local repair shop for a discounted oil change, there are watchmakers everywhere just waiting to prove that you don't always have to shell out hundreds of dollars to get your watch working.

That's not to say there aren't benefits to working directly with the companies — their warranties, for starters. And enthusiasts who treasure their perpetual calendars, tourbillons, and minute repeaters should probably bring their pieces straight to the manufacturer for repair. Mending such a complex instrument can be an especially delicate undertaking, and it makes sense to have the company's backing in case something does go wrong.

But if you have a Chopard Happy Sport, and you need to make a routine switch of the gasket or battery for your quartz movement, why pay hundreds when you could pay $60?

Another Two Racing Models from Bremont and Jaguar

Another partnership between a watch brand and a racing brand is the known Bremont-Jaguar duo. At Baselworld 2015 they presented the extraordinary Bremont Jaguar MKI and Jaguar MKII, that have the aspect of a 1960′s E-Type Jaguar.

Both Jaguar and Bremont produced a complementary edition, each of them outlining the other: Jaguar designed six manufactured E-Type improved cars and Bremont watches were meant to show the positive aspects of those cars.
However, this Bremont edition won't be limited. More than that, the brand want to make them affordable, made in stainless steel.
They are 43 mm in diameter and have a thickness of 16 mm. The middle part is DLC treated, it has a sapphire window, through which you can see the rotor created after the E-Type steering wheel.

The bracelets are from blue calfskin. The watches are water resistant to 100 m. The MKI uses an automatic 4-HZ BWC-01-10 caliber and the MKII BE-50AE, at 4 HZ, but better than the first one. The first one has a 42 hour reserve, while the second model has a fully 50 hour. The chronometers are COSC certified, like all Bremont timepieces have.
The big question, the price is about $10,950 for MKI and $6,550 for MKII.
